The paper deals with Cauchy problems for degenerate parabolic systems of porous medium type \[ \begin{cases} \partial_tu=\Delta u^m -\nabla\cdot (u^{q-1}\nabla v) & x\in \mathbb{R}^N,\;t>0,\\ 0=\Delta v -\gamma v+u & x\in \mathbb{R}^N,\;t>0,\\ u(x,0)=u_0(x) & x\in \mathbb{R}^N, \end{cases} \] with \(N\geq 3\) and where the constants \(m,q\) and \(\gamma\) satisfy \(q=m+2/N.\) An \(\varepsilon\)-regularity theorem is established for the weak solutions. As an application, the author clarifies the structure of asymptotics of the blowing-up solutions. In particular, it is shown that the solution behaves like the \(\delta\)-function at the blow-up points. Moreover, the author proves that the number of blow-up points is finite, which can be controlled in terms of the mass of initial data.
