In this paper, the authors make a study of the spaceability on the non-empty operator set \(I_{1}(E,F)\backslash I_{2}(E,F)\) in \(I_{1}(E,F)\), where \(I_{1}, \) \(I_{1}\) are operator ideals in the sense of Pietsch and \(E,F\) are Banach spaces. They find some consequences considering the closed operator ideals of compact operators, strictly singular operators, finitely strictly singular operators and strictly co-singular operators (with the usual operator norm). Finally, an application of this study to the Schatten operator classes is given.
