It is well known that the derivative of a modular form is not usually a modular form. However, in various contexts, differential operators that do preserve modularity have been developed and have found many useful applications. For instance, in the case of classical modular forms, Rankin and Cohen classified the possible operators preserving holomorphicity, which are typically non-linear, and modularity-preserving operators which don't preserve holomorphicity can be found in the classical raising and lowering operators. In this paper, the authors consider operators acting on spaces of Siegel-Jacobi forms, higher-dimensional versions of Jacobi forms. Like for classical modular forms, raising and lowering operators have been previously developed for Jacobi forms by \textit{R. Berndt} and \textit{R. Schmidt} [Elements of the representation theory of the Jacobi group. Basel: Birkhäuser (1998; Zbl 0931.11013)]. These 4 operators are listed on page 1030. Separately, previous work of the authors [Manuscr. Math. 146, No. 1--2, 65--84 (2015; Zbl 1361.11032)] gave differential operators acting on spaces of Siegel modular forms. In this article, the authors similarly obtain differential operators which move between prescribed spaces of Siegel-Jacobi forms. Their operators generalize those of Berndt and Schmidt. They also define two operators similar to those of Maass-Shimura. The proofs utilize the authors' calculation of the Chern connection of the relevant space. These results will be of interest to future authors wishing to delve into the structure of Siegel-Jacobi forms. Given the historical applications of such differential operators, this framework is useful to have worked out and may have some nice applications in future work.
