The authors work with an abstract convergence with respect to filters. This abstract approach covers, among other things, the convergence in cone metric spaces. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the exchange of limits for double-indexed families and for the preservation of continuity or semicontinuity of the limit family are presented. The authors apply these theorems to characterize the continuity and the semicontinuity of the limit of a pointwise convergent family of set functions.
