In complex dynamics, the escaping set \(I(f)=\{z\in \mathbb{C}\;:\;f^n(z)\to \infty\}\) is one of the central topics. If \(f(z)\) is a polynomial, then all points \(z\in I(f)\) tend to \(\infty\) at the same rate. However if \(f\) is a transcendental entire map, then there are some points who tends to \(\infty\) as fast as possible, the set of which is called the fast escaping set, while some points tend to \(\infty\) as slow as possible, the set of which is called the slow escaping set. In the case of quasiregular mappings \(f:\mathbb{R}^n\to \mathbb{R}^n\) of transcendental type, it is known that the escaping set and the fast escaping set are non-empty. In this paper it is proven that the slow escaping set is also non-empty. For a quasiregular mapping \(f\), the maximum modulus is given by \(M(r,f)=\max_{|x|\leq r} |f(x)|\) andthe iterated maximum modulus by \[ M^1(r, f)\text{ and }M^n(r,f)=M(M^{n-1}(r,f),f)\text{ for }n\geq 2. \] It is proven that for any large \(R\), there is \(x\) with modulus comparable to \(R\) such that \(f^n(x)\) tends to \(\infty\) at the rate of \(M^n(R, f)\). | |||
