For a domain \(\Omega\subset\mathbb C^n\) let \[ \mathcal P\mathcal S\mathcal H'(\Omega)=\{\varphi:\Omega\longrightarrow[-\infty,\infty)\text{ plurisubharmonic},\;\varphi\not\equiv-\infty,\;\nu(\varphi,\cdot)\equiv0\big\}, \] where \[ \nu(\varphi,z)=\liminf_{w\to z}\frac{\varphi(w)}{\log|w-z|},\quad z\in\Omega, \] is the Lelong number of \(\varphi\) in \(z\). Let \(\mathfrak c'(\Omega)\) denote the core of \(\Omega\), i.e., the set of points \(z\) from \(\Omega\) such that every function \(\varphi\in\mathcal P\mathcal S\mathcal H'(\Omega)\) that is bounded from above fails to be strictly plurisubharmonic near \(z\). Finally, let \(A^2(\Omega)\) denote the space of holomorphic functions on \(\Omega\) which are in \(L^2(\Omega)\). Two main results of the paper under review are the following. 1. Let \(\Omega\subset\mathbb C^n\) be a pseudoconvex domain such that \(\Omega\setminus\mathfrak c'(\Omega)\neq\emptyset\). Then \(\dim A^2(\Omega)=\infty\). 2. Let \(\Omega\subset\mathbb C^n\) be a domain. Then \(\Omega\setminus\mathfrak c'(\Omega)\neq\emptyset\) holds true in the following cases: (i) There exists a boundary point \(p\in b\Omega\) which is a local peak point for the class of plurisubharmonic continuous functions on \(\Omega\). (ii) There exists a boundary point \(p\in b\Omega\) near which \(b\Omega\) is \(\mathcal C^{\infty}\)-smooth, pseudoconvex, and of finite type in the sense of d'Angelo. (iii) There exists a boundary point \(p\in b\Omega\) near which \(b\Omega\) is strictly pseudoconvex (but not necessarily smooth).
