Plus and minus logarithms and Amice transform (Q2408530): Difference between revisions

The Amice transform associates a formal power series with a \(p\)-adic distribution on \(\mathbb Z_p\). The authors consider \(p\)-adic half logarithms \(\log_p^{\pm}\) introduced by \textit{R. Pollack} [Duke Math. J. 118, No. 3, 523--558 (2003; Zbl 1074.11061)] and their preimages \(\mu_{\pm}\) under the Amice transform. The values \(\mu_{\pm}(a+p^n\mathbb Z_p)\) for all \(a\in \mathbb Z_p\) and all integers \(n\geq 1\) are found. A similar description is found for the two-dimensional analogs of \(\log_p^{\pm}\) introduced by \textit{D. Loeffler} [Contrib. Math. Comput. Sci. 7, 357--378 (2014; Zbl 1384.11100)].
