The present paper is a continuation of the authors' work on maximal pairwise complementary families of quasi-uniformities [Topology Appl. 165, 64--68 (2014; Zbl 1290.54015)]. In this treatise they construct a countable infinite maximal pairwise complementary family of partial orders on an uncountable set. The main result is given by an example which shows that there exists an uncountable set with a maximal family of \(\aleph_0\) partial orders that are pairwise complementary. In the section entitled ``Final remarks and open questions'' the authors discuss connections between maximally complementary families of preorders and maximally complementary families of quasi-uniformities on a given set. The results on preorders suggest to study more generally quasi-uniformities satifying ``weight'' restrictions. In applying these restrictions the authors present several results. Furthermore, two observations about possible links between the order relations and lattices in this note are given based on applications of Zorn's Lemma. At the end the authors pose a rather general problem, i.e. what can be said about the weights of a pairwise complementary family of quasi-uniformities on a set?
