    Die Funk-Minkowski-Transformation \(\mathcal{F}\) (auch Funk-Radon-Transformation oder einfach Funk-Transformation genannt) ist die Integraltransformation, die einer Funktion \(f\) auf der Einheitssphäre \(\mathbb{S}^2\) ihr Integral längs der Großkreise der Sphäre zuordnet. In Anlehnung an einige Arbeiten der letzten Jahre wählt der Autor als zugrundeliegenden Funktionenraum den Sobolev-Raum \(H^1(\mathbb{S}^2)\); das ist ein Hilbert-Raum, der mittels der Kugelflächenfunktionen gebildet wird. Die Funk-Transformation kann nur für gerade Funktionen \(f\in H^1(\mathbb{S}^2)\) invertiert werden; für ungerade Funktionen \(f\) gilt \(\mathcal{F}f= 0\). Der Autor zeigt jedoch, daß jede Funktion \(f\in H^1(\mathbb{S}^2)\) vollständig rekonstruiert werden kann, wenn sowohl \(\mathcal{F}f\) als auch \(\mathcal{F}\nabla f\) bekannt sind. Weiterhin behandelt der Autor das Problem der Helmholtz-Hodge-Zerlegung für tangentiale Vektorfelder auf der Sphäre \(\mathbb{S}^2\). Eine Lösung erhält er unter Verwendung der Funk-Transformation \(\mathcal{F}\) und eines ``sphärischen Analogons'' der Hilbert-Transformation.
