Let \(G\) be a finite group, \(p\) a prime, and \((\mathcal{K},\mathcal{O}, k)\) a sufficiently large \(p\)-modular system such that \(k\) is algebraically closed. Let \(b\) be a \(p\)-block of \(\mathcal{O}G\) with a maximal \(b\)-Brauer pair \((P, b_P)\). Let \(Q\) be the hyperfocal subgroup of \(b\) with respect to \((P, b_P)\). The main result of this paper states that if \(p\) is odd and either (i) \(P\) is non-abelian, or (ii) \(P\) is abelian and \(Q\) is cyclic, then \(b\) is isotypic to its Brauer correspondents in \(N_G(P)\) and \(N_G(Q)\). This implies that a character-theoretic version of a conjecture of Rouquier for blocks with non-abelian metacyclic defect groups is true when \(p\) is odd.
