In the paper under review, the authors study the scattering of eleastic waves by highly oscillating anisotropic periodic media with bounded support. The problem can be reformulated in studying the asymptotic behavior of the solution \(u_\epsilon\) of a transmission problem in the pair of domains consisting of a highly oscillating \(\epsilon\)-periodic medium and its complementary set. By means of two-scale homogenization, the authors first obtain the homogenized equation describing the wave propagation of the effective wave field. Then they investigate the higher order convergence rate by exploiting complimentary boundary correctors. A few numerical examples illustrating the higher order homogenization conclude the paper.
