The paper deals with regularity assertions for the semilinear elliptic equation \[ - \nabla \big( A(x) \cdot \nabla u(x) \big) + g\big(x, u(x)\big) = f(x) \quad \text{in }D, \quad u| \partial D =0, \] in the Besov spaces \[ B^{m+s}_{\tau,q} (D), \quad m = d \Big( \frac{1}{\tau} - \frac{1}{2} \Big), \quad \tau < 2, \quad s \ge 0, \] where \(D\) is a polyhedral Lipschitz domain in \(\mathbb R^d\) (preferably \(d=2\) and \(d=3\)). This is reduced to so-called Kondratiev spaces of Sobolev-Besov type with weights proportional to powers of the distance to the singular part of \(\partial D\). Optimal rates of linear and nonlinear approximations in terms of wavelets are given.
