    The author deals with the mean dimension of shifts on generalized inverse limits with upper semi-continuous closed set-valued bonding maps. Let \(X\) be a finite-dimensional compact metric space and let \(\Gamma\subset X\times X\) be a closed subset of \(X\times X\) satisfying the following condition: for each \(k \geq 1\), there exists a sequence \(I_0,\dots , I_{k-1}\) of closed subsets of \(X\) such that \[I_0\times I_1 \cup \cdots \cup I_{k-2}\times I_{k-1}\cup I_{k-1} \times I_0 \subset \Gamma. \] Let \(s_k =\frac{1}{k}\dim (I_0\times\cdots \times I_{k-1})\). In this case, the author proves that \[ \limsup _{k\rightarrow \infty} s_k \leq \text{mdim}(X_{\Gamma},\sigma_{\Gamma}) \leq \dim X, \] where the topological dynamics \((X_{\Gamma},\sigma_{\Gamma})\) is a subshift of finite type. Let \(G =\{(s,t) \in [0,1]\ |\ s\leq t\}\) and for \(p,q\) with \(0 \leq p< q \leq 1\), let \(G_{pq} = G \cup \{(q,p)\}\). The author proves that \(h(\sigma_G) = 0\), while \(h(\sigma_{G_{pq}}) =\infty\). The infinity of the topological entropy \(h(\sigma_{G_{pq}})\) of the shift map \(\sigma_{G_{pq}}\) is a consequence of the existence of ``periodic blocks'' in \(G_{pq}\) of arbitrarily large length. Then, the author studies the mean dimension of some finite-type subshifts defined on \([0,1]^{N}\), \(N\geq 1\). Let \(G =\{(t_1, t_2) \in [0, 1]^2 \ |\ t_1\leq t_2\}\) and for \(0 \leq p< q \leq 1\), let \(G_{pq} = G \cup \{(q,p)\}\). In this case, the author proves that mdim\(([0,1]_G,\sigma_G) = 0\) and mdim\(([0; 1]_{G_{pq}},\sigma_{G_{pq}}) =\infty\). In particular, the author proves that \(h(\sigma_{G_{pq}}) =\infty\).
