If \(J\) is a Jordan superalgebra the category of finite-dimensional \(J\)-bimodules (denoted \(J\)-mod) decomposes in the form \(J\hbox{-mod}=J\hbox{-mod}_0\oplus J\hbox{-mod}_{1/2}\oplus J\hbox{-mod}_1\) where \(J\hbox{-mod}_i\) is the category of those modules \(M\) such that the unit \(e\in J\) acts in the form \(ex=i x\) for \(x\in M\). The modules in \(J\hbox{-mod}_{1/2}\) are called special while those of \(J\hbox{-mod}_1\) are called unital. For the categories of special and unital bimodules one may introduce the corresponding associative universal enveloping algebras characterized by the property that the categories of their representations are isomorphic to the categories \(J\hbox{-mod}_{1/2}\) and \(J\hbox{-mod}_1\). The authors describe the categories \(J\hbox{-mod}_1\) and \(J\hbox{-mod}_{1/2}\) when \(J\) is one of the following algebras: \(\hbox{JP}(2)\), \(\hbox{Kan}(n)\), \(M_{1,1}^+\) and superalgebras of bilinear forms. The main tools are the functors \(\hbox{Lie}\) and \(\hbox{Jor}\), \[J\hbox{-mod}_{1/2}\to \hat{\mathfrak{g}}\hbox{-mod}_{1/2},\qquad J\hbox{-mod}_{1}\to \hat{\mathfrak{g}}\hbox{-mod}_{1},\] where \(\hat{\mathfrak{g}}\) is the universal central extension of \(\mathfrak{g} = \hbox{Lie}(J)\), \(\hat{\mathfrak{g}}\hbox{-mod}_1\) is the category of \(\hat{\mathfrak{g}}\)-modules admitting a short grading \(M = M[-1] \oplus M[0] \oplus M[1]\), while \(\hat{\mathfrak{g}}\hbox{-mod}_{1/2}\) is the category of \(\hat{\mathfrak{g}}\)-modules admitting a very short grading \(M = M [-1/2] \oplus M [1/2]\).
