The authors study positive solutions to the weighted elliptic problem \[ -\operatorname{div}(|x|^\theta\nabla u)=|x|^l u^p\quad\text{in } \mathbb{R}^N\backslash\overline{B},\quad u=0\quad\text{on }\partial B, \tag{1} \] where \(B=\{x\in\mathbb{R}^N, |x|<1\}\) is the unit ball of \(\mathbb{R}^N\) and \(p>0\). Indeed, without requiring any behavior at infinity or any symmetry assumption for \(u\) and with some conditions on \(N, \theta, l\) and \(p\), they establish existence and nonexistence results for problem (1).
