In the paper the construction of Alpert wavelets is generalized to wavelet bases defined on the multidimensional Euclidean space \(\mathbb{R}^n\) equipped with a locally finite positive Borel measure. Resulting systems are called weighted Alpert wavelets. They possess vanishing moments of a fixed order. In the case of dimension 1, the authors study uniqueness and degeneracy of the wavelets and provide additional moment conditions. In the final section weighted Alpert wavelets are used to investigate weighted inequalities for Calderón-Zygmund operators on \(\mathbb{R}.\)
