The authors consider equations of the form \(-\Delta u(x)+|Du(x)|^\gamma=f(x)\) in \(\mathbb{R}^d\) with \(d\geq 1\), where \(\gamma>1\), \(f:\mathbb{R}^d\rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) satisfying \(f(x+z)=f(x)\) for all \(x\in \mathbb{R}^d\) and \(z\in \mathbb{Z}^d\). They prove maximal \(L^q\)-regularity for these equations assuming \(q>d(\gamma-1)/\gamma\) with \(q>2\) which had been conjectured by P.-L. Lions in 2014.
