Bredon cohomology plays the role of ordinary cohomology in equivariant topology, and is naturally graded over the Grothendieck group of real orthogonal representations \(RO(G)\) of the group \(G\). In recent years there has been renewed interest in equivariant methods and calculations, particularly for the cyclic group of order 2. In this paper, the author develops a theory of equivariant fundamental classes for \(RO(C_2)\)-graded Bredon cohomology with coefficients in the constant \(\mathbb{Z}/2\)-Mackey functor. She proves a Thom isomorphism theorem, gives several helpful examples, and uses these fundamental classes to give a geometric interpretation of the cohomology of \(C_2\)-surfaces.
