The author considers one class of systems of differential equations, called pseudoparabolic, of the form \[ A_0D_tu + A_1(D_{\bar x})u = f(t,\bar x) \] with a degenerate numerical matrix \(A_0\), and studies the Cauchy problem for these in the half-space \(t>0\). The class of systems under consideration contains the linearized Navier-Stokes system. Well-posedness is established in the weighted Sobolev spaces \(W_{p,\gamma}^r({R^+_{n+1}})\). For proving this result, the method of approximate solutions is used together with the technique of \(L_p\)-estimates for solutions to the equations.
