The authors consider a constrained version of the \(N\)-component KP hierarchy. They construct additional symmetries for this constrained hierarchy and moreover, they show that the additional symmetry flows satisfy the positive half of the the Virasoro algebra relations. Analogous to the continuous case, the authors also do the same for a discrete version of the constrained \(N\)-component KP hierarchy and they show the Virasoro symmetry is preserved under this discretization.
