Study of the invariants of links leads to the study of spin models on lattices such as the Potts model. The models considered are those for which the edge-weights considered as operators obey the Bose-Mesmer algebra. Many results are proved for models obeying particular cases of the Bose-Mesmer algebra, in particular planar duality and planar reversibility.
