The paper is devoted to robust control design for nominally linear systems with both control and state delays. The authors present necessary and sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability and \(H^\infty\) control synthesis. Several types of feedback controllers are proposed. The first type of controller is a static state feedback, the second one is a two term controller combining the instantaneous state and delayed state feedback, the third one is a static output feedback controller and the last is a dynamic output feedback controller which has a form of observer-based feedback control scheme. All theorems are proved via Lyapunov type reasoning. Finally the results are converted into a linear matrix inequality (LMI) framework that enables to solve efficiently some examples using an LMI control toolbox software. All theoretical design methods are followed by numerical examples including results of computer simulation.
