Starting from a discrete-time optimization problem of a nonlinear system with control constraints and quadratic objective function, an architecture of a basic hardware module is presented. This is obtained by combining the projected Jacobi method with the Lagrange-dual Jacobi method. For the implementation of this hardware module, the author proposed a VLSI-array processor architecture. An application to receding-horizon controller permits to understand the main advantages of the VLSI-array processor.
