Let \(H\) be a Hopf algebra (with possibly bijective antipode) over a field \(k\) and and let \(A\) be a left \(H\)-module algebra. It is a well-known result by \textit{A. Connes} and \textit{H. Moscovici} [Mosc. Math. J. 4, No. 1, 111--130 (2004; Zbl 1122.11024)] that the vector space \(A\otimes H\otimes A\) can turn into a left bialgebroid over \(A\). In the paper under review, the author studies some properties of this Connes-Moscovici bialgebroid when considering as a Hopf algebra the universal enveloping of a Lie algebra \(L\). In particular, after introducing \(A\)-anchored Lie algebras, he shows that the Connes-Moscovici bialgebroid to an \(A\)-anchored Lie algebra satisfies an universal property as \(A^e\)-ring, and that the space of primitives of an \(A\)-bialgebroid induces a functor from the category of \(A\)-bialgebroids to the category of \(A\)-anchored Lie algebras. Moreover, the construction provides a natural left adjunction to this functor. Other interesting results involve the study of the space of primitives of the Connes-Moscovici algebroid. In the last section of the paper, the author establishes a connection between his research and the differential calculi by showing how representations of an \(A\)-anchored Lie algebra \(L\) are naturally equivalent to certain flat bimodule connections on the first-order differential calculus \(\mathrm{Hom}_k(L; A)\).
