This article is concerned with the study of the heat equation on cylindrical domains \(\mathbb{R}\times \Omega\) with a bounded and Lipschitz base \(\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^d\). The lateral boundary is decomposed into two non-intersecting open components \(D\) and \(N\) separated by a region \(\Lambda\). Under certain mild regularity assumptions on \(\Lambda\), it is shown that for any \(q > 1\) sufficiently close to 1, the mixed problem in the \(L_q\) space is solvable. Precisely, for any given Dirichlet data in the parabolic Riesz potential space \(\mathcal{L}^1_q\) and the Neumann data in \(L_q\), there is a unique solution and the non-tangential maximal function of its gradient is in \(L_q\) on the lateral boundary of the domain. For \(q = 1\) it is obtained a similar result provided that the data is in the Hardy space. Under the additional condition that the boundary of the domain \(\Omega\) is Reifenberg-flat and the separation is locally sufficiently close to a Lipschitz function of \(m\) variables, \(0\leq m \leq d-2\), with respect to the Hausdorff distance, the authors derive the unique solvability for any \(1<q< (m + 2)/(m + 1))\).
