A parabolic-elliptic system of chemotaxis describing interactions via a chemoattractant and a repellent is studied in planar bounded domains. When solutions are not global in time, see [\textit{Q. Guo} et al., Appl. Anal. 97, No. 13, 2349--2354 (2018; Zbl 1397.35130)], a lower bound for the existence time is shown in terms of the \(L^2\) norm of the initial data.
