The main result of the paper states that if \(G\) is a commutative group of homeomorphisms of a topological space \(E\) of second category such that the cardinality of any disjoint family of nonempty open subsets of \(E\) is strictly less than \(\text{card}(E)\) and \(G\) acts transitively and freely in \(E\), then there exists a subgroup \(H\) of \(G\) such that no \(H\)-orbit has the Baire property in \(E\). This result has several applications. For example, if \(G\) is a commutative non-discrete locally compact topological group, then there exists a subgroup of \(G\) without the Baire property.
