The object of this paper is to define homology with coefficients in a relative semi-abelian category, as defined by \textit{T. Janelidze} [Appl. Categ. Struct. 17, No. 4, 373--386 (2009; Zbl 1180.18005)]. The author compares conditions for an augmented simplicial object to be a resolution to exactness conditions on its Moore complex. Once the homology of simplicial objects is defined via the Moore complex, she shows a long exact homology sequence for simplicial objects and, using recent results on simplicial objects in relative Mal'tsev categories [\textit{T. Everaert} et al., J. Algebra 371, 132--155 (2012; Zbl 1275.18030)] and a classic comparison theorem, she concludes giving the definition of the homology of an object in a relative homological category with coefficients in a functor into a relative semi-abelian category.
