Let \(a\) and \(b\) be bounded functions on the unit circle \({\mathbb T}\) such that \[ a(\zeta)a(\bar\zeta)=b(\zeta)b(\bar\zeta),\quad\zeta\in{\mathbb T}. \] The authors of the paper under review study Toeplitz plus Hankel operators \(T_a+H_b\) on the Hardy classes \(H^p\), \(1<p<\infty\). Under the above condition, they give an effective description of the structure of the kernel and the cokernel of such operators.
