Recall that a finite group \(G\) has an exact factorization \(G=G_1G_2\) of two subgroups \(G_1,G_2\) if \(G_1\cap G_1=\{1\}\) and \(|G|=|G_1||G_2|\). Equivalently, \(G=G_1G_2\) is an exact factorization if every element \(g\in G\) can be uniquely written in the form \(g=g_1g_2\) for \(g_1\in G_1,\; g_2\in G_2.\) This paper gave a nice analogue to fusion categories. Precisely, the author introduced and studied the new notion of an exact factorization \(\mathfrak{B}=\mathfrak{A}\bullet\mathfrak{C} \)of a fusion category \(\mathfrak{B}\) into a product of two fusion subcategories \(\mathfrak{A}, \mathfrak{C} \). The author proved that \(\mathfrak{B}=\mathfrak{A}\bullet\mathfrak{C} \) if and only if every simple object of \(\mathfrak{B}\) can be uniquely expressed in the form \(X\otimes Y\) where \(X,Y\) are simple objects of \(\mathfrak{A},\mathfrak{C}\) respectively. This is a very beautiful analogue. Moreover, the author also apply this new notion to study exact sequence of fusion categories which were developed by A. Bruguieres, S. Natale, P. Etingof and the author etc.
