The author obtains the general solutions of the functional equation \[ \sum_{j=0}^{n}x^jA_{n+1-j}(x^{n+1-j})=0 \] in which \(A_i:\mathbb R\to \mathbb R\), \(i=1,\dots, n+1\), are additive functions. The results obtained show that additive functions linked by a certain type of functional equations are combinations of linear functions and derivations of various orders. He also gives some examples which are applications of some of the results proved earlier by him.
