Let \(\Omega\) be a bounded \(n\)-dimensional domain, \(n\geq 2\), with \(C^{1,1}\)-boundary. The author investigates the solvability of the Navier-Stokes equations \[ -\Delta u + u\cdot \nabla u + \nabla p = F, \qquad \operatorname{div} u = K\quad\text{in }\Omega, \] with \(u=g\) on \(\partial \Omega\), in the framework of a Bessel-potential space \(H^{\beta,q}(\Omega)\), \(\beta \in [0,2]\). In this general setting, including the case \(\beta =0\), the concept of very week solution introduced by H. Amann in 2002 is necessary. In a first stage the Stokes case is solved, then the solvability of the general Navier-Stokes problem with small data is derived by means of the Banach fixed point theorem.
