Regev made a conjecture about the asymptotic behaviour of the codimension sequence of an associative algebra. Studying the periodicity of proper cocharacters, the author proves the conjecture for algebras with P.I. exponent two. He studies also polynomial identities of Clifford algebras, and another concrete algebra that played some role in the study of codimension growth. He presents a superalgebra such that the T-ideal of identities of the Grassmann envelope is generated by the Lie commutator \([x_1,x_2,x_3,x_4]\).
