Let \(K\) be an arbitrary field and \(\Lambda\) be a finite dimensional \(K\) algebra. A finitely generated \(\Lambda\)-module \(M\) is called brick if its endomorphism ring is a division algebra. A \(2\)-simple minded collection is a collection of bricks in the bounded derived category \(D^b(\operatorname{mod} \Lambda)\) which satisfy some conditions (see [\textit{S. Koenig} and \textit{D. Yang}, Doc. Math. 19, 403--438 (2014; Zbl 1350.16010)] and [\textit{D. J. Benson} (ed.) et al., Advances in representation theory of algebras. Selected papers of the 15th international conference on representations of algebras and workshop (ICRA XV), Bielefeld, Germany, 2012. Zürich: European Mathematical Society (EMS) (2014; Zbl 1279.00041)]). \(2\)-simple minded collections are in bijection with many other objects in representation theory, for example \(2\)-term silting complexes, support \(\tau\)-tilting objects, and functorially finite torsion classes. A set of isomorphism classes of bricks with no nonzero homomorphisms between them is called a semibrick. This paper begins by extending the definition of mutation from \(2\)-simple minded collections to sets of semibrick pairs. By using this definition the authors produce an algorithm to determine when a semibrick pair is contained in a \(2\)-simple minded collection. Finally they use this algorithm for \(\tau\)-tilting finite gentle algebras and Nakayama like algebras. They show that the \(2\)-simple minded collections of a \(\tau\)-tilting finite gentle algebra \(KQ/I\), where \(Q\) has no loops nor 2-cycles, are given by pairwise compatibility conditions if and only if every vertex of \(Q\) has degree at most \(2\). This result disproving a conjecture from [\textit{E. J. Hanson} and \textit{K. Igusa}, ``\(tau\)-cluster morphism categories and picture groups'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1809.08989}].
