A \textit{deformed Donaldson-Thomas (dDT) connection} is a Hermitian connection \(\nabla\) of smooth complex line bundle \(L\) with a Hermitian metric \(h\) over a manifold \(X^7\) with a \(G_2\)-structure \(\varphi \in \Omega^3(X^7)\) satisfying \(\frac{1}{6} F^3_\nabla + F_\nabla \wedge \ast\varphi = 0\), where \(F_\nabla\) if the curvature \(2\)-form of \(\nabla\). A \textit{deformed Hermitian Yang-Mills connection (dHYM)} is a Hermitian connection \(\nabla\) of a smooth complex line bundle \(L\) with Hermitian metric over a Kähler manifold \((X, \omega)\), \(\dim_\mathbb{C} X = n\), satisfying \(F^{0,2}_\nabla = 0\) and \(\operatorname{Im}(e^{i\theta}(\omega + F\nabla)^n) = 0\) for a constant \(\theta \in \mathbb{R}\), where \(F^{0,2}_\nabla\) is the \((0,2)\)-part of the curvature \(2\)-form of \(\nabla\). The authors explain the origins of dDT and dHYM connections: in physics dHYM connections were derived as minimizers of Dirac-Born-Infeld action [\textit{M. Mariño} et al., J. High Energy Phys. 2000, No. 1, Paper No. 01(2000)005, 31 p. (2000; Zbl 0990.81585)], and in mathematics dHYM connection was obtained as the real Fourier-Mukai transform of a special Lagrangian cycle in a Calabi-Yau manifold in the context of mirror symmetry [\textit{N. C. Leung}, J. Differ. Geom. 45, No. 3, 514--546 (1997; Zbl 0926.53017)]. The dDT connection was introduced as the real Fourier-Mukai transform of an associative cycle [\textit{J.-H. Lee} and \textit{N. C. Leung}, Adv. Theor. Math. Phys. 13, No. 1, 1--31 (2009; Zbl 1171.81417)]. The dHYM and dDT connections can also be considered as analogues of Hermitian Yang-Mills (HYM) connections and Donaldson-Thomas (DT) connections. The HYM and DT connections are also called Hermite-Einstein connections and \(G_2\)-instantons, respectively. The main topic of the paper is to study the moduli spaces of dDT and dHYM connections. In particular, the authors prove that the moduli space of dHYM connections, if it is nonempty, is a \(b^1\)-dimensional torus, where where \(b^1\) is the first Betti number of \(X\). Also, for dDT connection, they show that under some conditions the connected component of the moduli space is a \(b^1\)-dimensional torus.
