Let \(\mathcal C_{n,m}^{\mathrm{glp}}\) be the configuration space of \(m\) points in general linear position in \(\mathbb P^n\) up to projective equivalence. In this paper the author determines the cohomology groups of \(\mathcal C_{2,7}^{\mathrm{glp}}\) for seven points in general linear position in the projective plane as representations of the symmetric group on seven elements. To prove the result, the author relates the space \(\mathcal C_{2,7}^{\mathrm{glp}}\) to the complement of a certain toric arrangement, counts points of \(\mathcal C_{2,7}^{\mathrm{glp}}\) over finite fields, and applies Lefschetz's trace formula. The author also explains what can (or cannot) be done for the case of eight points via the same method.
