    Let \(F(z)\) be a Hecke-Maass form for \(\mathrm{SL}(3, \mathbb{Z})\) (or \(\mathrm{SL}(2, \mathbb{Z})\)), \(A_F(n, 1)\) (or \(A_F(n)\)) be its Fourier coefficients, and \(L(s, F)\) the Godement-Jacquet \(L\)-function attached to \(F\). And let \(\mu_F (n)\) be the coefficients of the reciprocal of \(L(s, F)\) in the absolutely convergent region \(\mathrm{R}(s) > 1\). Then in the paper under review, the authors prove that \(\mu_F (n)\) is strongly orthogonal to \(1\)-step nilsequence. As applications, they prove that the Möbius function \(\mu(n)\) is strongly orthogonal to \(A_F(n,1)e(n\alpha)\) and \(A_F(n)2e(n\alpha)\). More precisely, they establish \[ \sum_{n \leq N} \mu(n) A_F(n,1) e(n\alpha) \ll_{\varepsilon} N \exp(-c \sqrt{\log N}), \] and \[ \sum_{n \leq N} \mu(n) A_F(n)^2 e(n\alpha) \ll_{A} N (\log N)^{-A}. \] Moreover, they also show that \(\mu_F (n)\) is asymptotically orthogonal to any \(AC^0(d)\) function, and all MMA and MMLS flows.
