    The author applies a general version of Calabi's ansatz on line bundles and vector bundles, as formalized by \textit{A. D. Hwang} and \textit{M. A. Singer} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 354, No. 6, 2285--2325 (2002; Zbl 0987.53032)], to complete, steady Kähler-Ricci solitons. He thus obtains existence results under assumptions that are natural for applying the Hwang-Singer construction. Some of the examples obtained are new, although, as the author notes, there is an overlap with recent results by \textit{R. J. Conlon} and \textit{A. Deruelle} [``Steady gradient Kähler-Ricci solitons on crepant resolutions of Calabi-Yau cones'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:2006.03100}], which are not based on a Calabi ansatz approach. In Hwang-Singer's construction, existence is governed by an explicit first-order linear ODE, which allows a precise description of the asymptotic behavior of metrics. This makes it possible to introduce appropriate weighted spaces and to prove a uniqueness result relative to the asymptotic behavior and the Kähler class. The proof of uniqueness constitutes the main technical part of the article and is based on methods used by \textit{H.-J. Hein} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 139, No. 8, 2943--2955 (2011; Zbl 1220.53055)], \textit{R. J. Conlon} and \textit{H.-J. Hein} [Duke Math. J. 162, No. 15, 2855--2902 (2013; Zbl 1283.53045)].
