Let (G,K) be an Hermitian symmetric pair, G a matrix group and \({\mathfrak L}_ m={\mathfrak h}_ m\oplus {\mathfrak n}\) an ''Iwasawa-Borel subalgebra'' of \({\mathcal J}\). For a general Harish-Chandra module V, it is an unsolved problem to compute \(H_*({\mathfrak n},V)\). In this paper, we classify those Harish-Chandra modules having their \({\mathfrak n}\)-homology given by an analogue of Kostant's formula for the \({\mathfrak n}\)-homology of a finite dimensional representation. Such modules are in one-to-one correspondence with Jantzen-Zuckerman translates (inside the chamber) of the unitary derived functor modules \(A_{{\mathfrak q}'}\); here, \({\mathfrak q}'=\ell '\oplus u'\) varies over the \(\Theta\) -stable parabolic subalgebras of \({\mathfrak J}'\), compatible with a complex structure of a specified ''dual'' Hermitian symmetric pair (G',K'). As a corollary, we obtain an \({\mathfrak n}\)-homological characterization of certain unitary derived functor modules.
