Summary: It is known that the unimodular Fourier multipliers \(e^{it|\Delta|^{\alpha/2}}, \alpha > 0\), are bounded on all modulation spaces \(M^s_{p, q}\) for \(1 \leq p, q \leq \infty\). We extend this result to the case of all \(0 < p, q \leq \infty\) and obtain asymptotic estimates as \(t\) goes to infinity. As application, we give the grow-up rate of the solution for the Cauchy problem for the free Schrödinger equation with the initial data in a modulation space, as well as some mixed norm estimates. We also study the \(M^s_{p_1, q} \to M^s_{p_2, q}\) boundedness for the operator \(e^{it|\Delta|^{\alpha/2}}\), for the case \(0 < \alpha \leq 2\) and \(\alpha \neq 1\). Finally, we investigate the boundedness of the operator \(e^{it|\Delta|^{\alpha/2}}\) for \(\alpha > 0\) and obtain the local well-posedness for the Cauchy problem of some nonlinear partial differential equations with fundamental semigroup \(e^{it|\Delta|^{\alpha/2}}\).
