Let \(G\) be a Kac-Moody group over a finite field corresponding to a generalized Cartan matrix. It is known that \(G\) admits the structure of BN-pair and acts on the corresponding building. The complete Kac-Moody group \(\widehat G\) is defined to be the closure of \(G\) in the automorphism group of the building. The main goal is to determine whether \(\widehat G\) is abstractly simple.
