In the paper under review, the very important and pioneering Bolzano theorem (also called intermediate value theorem), which states that ``if \(f:[a,b] \subset \mathbb{R} \rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) is a continuous function satisfying \(f(a)f(b) < 0\), then there exists at least one \(x \in (a,b)\) such that \(f(x) = 0\)'', is generalized to the case of simplices. The proof is essentially based on the Knaster-Kuratowski-Mazurkiewicz lemma, often called the KKM covering theorem or KKM covering principle, which states that a family of \((n + 1)\) closed subsets covering an \(n\)-dimensional simplex and satisfying the Knaster-Kuratowski-Mazurkiewicz boundary conditions has a non-empty intersection.
