The definition of attractors involves the concept of limit set. In the paper a new definition of limit set, that depends on a family of subsets of a semigroup, is given. Under certain hypotheses on the family of subsets of the semigroup and that the topological space is compact, the complementary repeller of an attractor is defined. The set of chain recurrent points in terms of attractors is characterized.
