The author establishes a connection between nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials and standard bases and dual standard bases of maximal parabolic modules of affine Hecke algebras. After giving well known combinatorial properties of affine root systems and their Weyl groups, a polynomiality result for coefficients of symmetric and nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials is proved.
