Mahler's conjecture says that \[ \text{vol}_n(K)\text{vol}_n(K^*)\geq {4^n\over n!}, \] where \(K\) is a convex body in \(\mathbb{R}^n\), centrally symmetric about the origin, and \(K^*\) is the polar body of \(K\). This is known to be true in some special cases (\(n= 2\), zonoids, highly symmetric bodies). The conjecture is proved here for polytopes with at most \(2n+2\) vertices (or facets) in dimension \(2\leq n\leq 8\); the extreme cases are characterized. The proof requires computer calculations.
