Subsets of the set of 1-spaces of a 2-dimensional vector space over \(GF(q^ n)\) are used to define projective two-weight codes, and in the case of \(q=2\), difference sets and symmetric designs. Exponential lower bounds on the corresponding number of such nonisomorphic linear codes, difference sets and symmetric designs are obtained.
