The authors define the Samuel realcompactification of a uniform space \(X\) to be the smallest realcompactification of \(X\) such that each real-valued uniformly continuous map \(f\) can be extended to it. The main result of this article states that \(X\) is Samuel realcompact iff it is Bourbaki complete and every uniformly discrete subset has non-measurable cardinal. The final section contains some results on the relation between Samuel realcompactness and uniformities with a base that consists of countable covers.
