Let \((C,*)\) be a compact hypergroup with normalized Haar measure \(\omega_C\) and \((D,\cdot )\) a discrete hypergroup with \(C\cap D=\{e\}\), the identity of both hypergroups. The hypergroup join \(C\vee D\) is the set \(C\cup D\) with the unique topology for which both \(C\) and \(D\) are closed subspaces. In this paper, the authors studied functional equations on hypergroup joins. The functional equations in question characterize basic function classes, like exponential functions, additive functions, quadratic functions, and sine functions. The authors described all solutions of these functional equations.
