Toeplitz operators with homogeneous symbols acting on the poly-Bergman spaces of the upper half-plane (Q2401502): Difference between revisions

The paper deals with Toeplitz operators with bounded measurable homogeneous symbols \(a(z)\), depending only on angular variable \(\theta= \arg z\) and having finite limits at \(\theta\in\{0,\pi\}\), on the poly-Bergman subspaces \({\mathcal A}^2_n(\Pi)\) of \(L^2(\Pi)\) over the upper half-plane \(\Pi\) for all \(n\in\mathbb{N}\). An isomorphic description of the poly-Bergman spaces \({\mathcal A}^2_n(\Pi)\) is obtained, and the \(C^*\)-algebra \(\mathfrak{B}\) generated by all Toeplitz operators with the mentioned symbols on the space \({\mathcal A}^2_n(\Pi)\) is investigated for every \(n\in\mathbb{N}\). Applying the non-commutative Stone-Weierstrass theorem, the authors prove that the \(C^*\)-algebra \(\mathfrak{B}\) is (isometrically) isomorphic to the \(C^*\)-algebra \[ \big\{M\in M_n(\mathbb{C})\otimes C[-\infty,+\infty]:\;M(\pm\infty)=c_\pm I_n, \;c_\pm\in\mathbb{C}\big\}, \] where \(M_n(\mathbb{C})\) is the \(C^*\)-algebra of complex \(n\times n\) matrices, \(C[-\infty,+\infty]\) is the \(C^*\)-algebra of all continuous functions on the segment \([-\infty,+\infty]\), and \(I_n\) is the unity element in \(M_n(\mathbb{C})\).
