A global regularity of solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations with specifically large data is studied in the paper. The authors consider the Navier-Stokes equations \[ \frac{\partial v}{\partial t}+(v\cdot\nabla)v-\nu\Delta v+\nabla p=f,\quad \text{div}\,v=0,\quad x\in \Omega,\;t>0 \] with initial condition \[ v(x,0)=v_0,\quad x\in \Omega \] and periodic boundary conditions in the domain \(\Omega=(0,l)^2\times(0,h)\), where \(l>0\) and \(h\in(0,1]\). The data \(f\) and \(v_0\) are characterized by the BMO-type operator \[ M[u](x_1,x_2)=\frac{1}{h}\int\limits_0^hu(x_1,x_2,y)\,dy. \] The main result of the paper is the existence theorem. For \(q\geq 3\) there exists a constant \(C\), depending on \(q\), such that if \[ \begin{aligned} \| f \|_{L^\infty_tL^2_x}\leq \frac{\nu^2}{Ch^{1/2}},\quad \| M[f_3] \|_{L^\infty_t L^{3q/(q+3)}_x}\leq \frac{\nu^2}{Ch^{2/3-3/q}}, \\ \| \nabla v_0 \|_{L^2}\leq \frac{\nu}{Ch^{1/2}},\quad \| M[v_{03}] \|_{L^q}\leq \frac{\nu}{Ch^{1-3/q}}\end{aligned} \] then there exists a unique smooth solution to the problem, which is defined for all \(t>0\). A similar result is obtained for \(q\geq 4\). Examples of initial datum \(v_0\) satisfying to the above inequalities are presented.
